Curriculum

Hello! My name is Ana Luna and I am blessed to be teaching at Our Lady of Guadalupe School. My current homeroom teaching assignment is Transitional Kindergarten. I consider myself a bit of an expert in the area(s) Social-Emotional Development, Emergent Writing and Oral Language. I want to provide a Christ Centered, safe, loving and nurturing environment where children love to come.

At my grade level, there are certain curricular highlights every year.

In Religion class you can count on learning about why we are special to God, our family and friends. God and the world around us, Jesus, Mary and Joseph. Learning about prayer and being a good friend to everyone.

Math curriculum for Transitional Kindergarten highlights Number Sense, Geometry and Spacial Sense, Classification and Patterns and Measurement.

Reading and Language development at this grade level is sure to include Phonological awareness, Alphabet Knowledge, Concepts of Print and Books, Listening Comprehension, Speaking and Conversation.

Science lessons will emphasize such concepts as how to investigate life cycles(animal, plant, human), measure objects and explore changes to name a few.

Social Studies curriculum at this grade level focuses on key concepts such as People, Events, and Culture, Citizenship, Geography,Economics, and Community.

There is so much to learn and do in Transitional Kindergarten. Every year also takes us on its own special journey.   There are many traditional events and a few surprises. In the past, our curriculum has led us to such activities like growing our on plants, observing how plants drink water by doing an experiment and going to the Fullerton Arboretum to see their Springtime garden and vegetable garden.

Come by our campus and I can tell you even more about Transitional Kindergarten!
